N1 Goal: Can understand speech in a variety of challenging situations. Can grasp nuance and progression of ideas in abstract and complex materials.

As of 2010, the JLPT no longer publishes an official list of words. This list is an approximate guide likely to match the vocabulary requirements for the level N1 exam.

The last 7 sections of this list contain each individual kanji likely required-- if you don't wish to study kanji "comp" writings individually, be sure to skip these sections by using "Change Study Settings".(Recommended).

This is not a cumulative list, (words from the JLPT N2 list and below are not present).
