Wacom Tablet in china?

atdlouis   May 14th, 2011 6:40p.m.

Have any of you bought a Wacom tablet in China? I'm looking at Amazon.cn, and can't find the model that seems to be the most suitable (CTL460).

Has anyone had any luck buying one online and having it delivered to China? Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Alex

There's always Taobao if there are no local electronics places with them.

I bought mine at the local Computer City, where there's an actual Wacom dealer. Funny, now that I think of it, the price I paid was the same as the model number.

As Byzanti mentioned, there are hundreds of that model available on Taobao, a quick scan of the first couple dozen showed prices as low as 465 shipped, might get cheaper if you look harder.

Additionally, there are loads of viable competing products for way less money (汉王 which goes by the English name Hanvon is one of the best-known), though none of them are as good as Wacom, and you have to be careful that you're buying a drawing tablet and not just a tablet for writing 汉字 - which does handwriting recognition and only handwriting recognition. In other words, if you buy off-brand, either make sure that you know exactly what it does in advance, or test it in the store before buying.

I ordered the Wacom CTL 460 on taobao.com (http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=3471456941)I wasn't able to find it on amazon.cn either, but using taobao it was delivered without a hitch.
