Example sentences are great. I would love to see more of them. Some of the current example sentences are a bit "esoteric", and it would be nice to have more representative sentences.

Being able to click on words that appear in example sentences is a very useful feature. There is a small bug in the parsing of sentences that contain special symbols. Clicking on a word may then display the next or previous word. See for example the only example sentence for 背着.

You are in luck. The Skritter team is currently working on Example Sentences 2.0.

In the meanwhile, in the popup you can lookup the word in tatoeba or yellowbridge, etc. to get more example sentences. Another few clicks, but they are there, at least.

My problem is forming sentences especially describing things. Sort of things that don't usually get used for example sentences (and sort of things that don't get used in class or teachers don't/won't teach)

I know some of it is from thinking in the wrong language and some from being an Engineer

Could always have a separate example sentence only mode in the web app and ios app - but for version/release two. To many features in the ios app so far.

Not *currently* working on a new version of the example sentences, right now all work is focused on the app. But yes, example sentences are high on our list post-iOS.

We are chewing through the list of overdue features, and it's the biggest feature up there at the top. We haven't started on it in particular yet, though.

The plan is to include them in the iOS app and the website, yes. It may take a while.
