Although it's pretty easy to write, is there a chance you guys are going to support 〆 (pronounced しめ) in the future?

It's used to replace various kanji-kana pairs pronounced as しめ, like 閉め、占め、締め、and 絞め. The most common usage is in replacing the 締め in 締(め)切(り) to make it 〆切.

It's technically a kanji! Although a 国字 (kokuji, Japanese-made kanji) like 込,畑, or 働. It's got two strokes and is techinically under the 4th radical, 丿部.

Well...I learned something new today! Thanks for the primer on 〆, and I hope Skritter adds it so I can get practice...I'm having a tendency to try writing it as one stroke and I need to nip that in the bud.

I think it's two strokes in the same way 了 is two strokes, so it's probably okay to do it in one stroke. XD

Probably not, unless we do the whole hog kana handwriting system, in which case we might be able to get this one in.

We don't support kana for the same reason; because they would require another set of strokes, which take quite some time to make right, and hiragana in particular would be finicky because the system isn't as good with cursive strokes. It will be a not-trivial project to add those on, same with this stroke.

Oh, I see, I see. Are you guys thinking of supporting kana any time soon, or would this be a "if we have waaaaay too much time on our hands" kind of thing?

Will get back to you on that after the iOS app. How that goes really kind of determines what comes next. It's not on our immediate to do list right now though, so probably won't be for a bit.

Oh well. I already have 'em all down, so I wasn't on the edge of my seat or anything. It's just my handwriting with the kanas is downright frightful, and you guys have really helped me out with my Kanji handwriting XD.

Also, some of them might be tricky because there is some legitimate debate on some of their stroke orders (in particular the katakana ヒ).
