Export list as characters?

Zeppa   September 20th, 2011 12:03p.m.

Might it be possible to export a word list as characters? I realize I can export the words I've already studied that way, but I would like to do more in Anki before I use Skritter. The book is Conversational Chinese 301.

TIA

Margaret

Not my list - the list from the book. I have exported 31 words, but I would like to export 17 chapters (this is a bit of a one-off thing).

Margaret, I'm not sure we want to mod the list export function in that way, but I'll just do some Emacs fu on the list real quick and email you the list as characters, since it's a one-off thing. Look for that email soon.

Great, Nick, that's wonderful. I understand the position, hence my remark. It was only in my other recent thread that I discovered one could export as characters and not just words. Anki is full of common characters described as '(name)'.

The list export and the My Words export, though they look similar, use different code, so it would be a bit of a trick to enable characters-only export for lists. Anyway, hope the list I sent you does the trick!

Have sorted this out now.
