Clearing Future Reviews

马洲屹   January 23rd, 2014 7:40p.m.

Hi guys and gals,

What I am about to ask I am sure has been raised before, but I can't seem to find an answer, so i thought I would ask you all :-).

After a very long time, I was able to get my stupendous amount of reviews down to 0 yesterday. What I was wanting to know is if I can clear my backlog of future reviews early? What I want to do is sometimes clear reading, pinyin, and tone reviews if I have time on my hand...this means I can stay ahead of the curve :-).

For example, I go down to zero and I keep reviewing my cards without adding any new words (I manually add).

If I do this, does that mean that my reviews would go down for subsequent days (obviously taking into account I am getting most of them right)?

Thanks all!

Cheers,
Joe

I assume so since, if you get them right, they will be pushed further back into the queue. But perhaps if you're reviewing them early, they won't be pushed back very far.

Thanks mate. I'll check it out to see how it goes :-)

When over-reviewing maybe look at the % due and time since last review in the popup of a few - if are a longish period and e.g. 90% due, probably are getting ahead of the game, if you overreview to 5/10% due, then probably not effective. Mine are normally over 100% though ... so never tried it! Congrats on the big 0!

Yup, as long as you aren't getting down below maybe 70% due, you'll be quite effective at clearing future reviews. You can see how many reviews will become due in the next eight weeks by clicking "click to calculate" and then clicking the graph on http://www.skritter.com/study which can help you gauge how much effect your overstudying is having.
