Looks like the Great Firewall or something like it is preventing you from completely loading www.skritter.com because it is hosted on Google App Engine, which is periodically blocked. Try instead our mirror:

legacy.skritter.cn

This might also be caused by an internet filter, such as SafeEyes. If you have such a filter installed, try adding appspot.com to the list of allowed domains.

Example sentences

My Skritter used to provide example sentences in Chinese and Pinyin, but I can't find them now. Did I accidentally change a setting, or did Skritter possibly discontinue them?

There is now a setting, which defaults to disabled (because the sentences are a huge performance hit, and syncing them was causing problems for some users). More in this thread: http://www.skritter.com/forum/topic?id=1411812211

If you're using the iOS app, you can just re-enable the sentences and then do a Settings - Account - Clear Local Data to redownload all your words with sentences attached. On the Flash app, it should be just the setting. Not sure if the setting is used yet on the HTML5 / Android app.
