How do I purchase one of these, do I need to cancel my current subscription?

There are two ways to purchase the longer subscriptions. You can let your web account expire, and then when it's fully expired, you can purchase from within the app itself. Or, as Henryfon said, you can just PayPal the equivalent subscription price to scott@skritter.com and include your username in the message, after which we'll extend your subscription. Here are the options:

6 months: $39.99
1 year: $69.99
2 years: $119.99

Just a warning, with an in-app purchase you also pay sales tax.

How much percent is the sales tax for the in app purchase? Is it billed to the user or Skritter?

Apple handles all sales tax, and it's dependent on the state you're in.

Yes, Dennis, that's how it works currently (though I think we'll be changing it; it's causing confusion for more than a few people looks like). If you want to pay early, you can send us payment through Paypal, as Henryfon and Nick describe. Or I can charge the credit card you have on the site directly, if you're subscribed. Are the paypal payments really working? Someone checking these? Just wondering. Made a payment on Saturday. I understand that on the weekend perhaps no on looks at them, but would it be possible to have a look today? Would be great. Would like to add new words, and currently my account is listed as expired.
