Seeing friends' progress?

jehlers2   July 27th, 2014 3:38p.m.

Is there a way for two people to compare their stats and progress?

MatsJonsson   July 28th, 2014 5:21a.m.

The only way I know so far is that you give each other your password so you can check how the other one is doing~ ^^ Given that you are friends who can trust each other with such of course.
I do it with some classmates, adds some motivation when I see someone else studied like one hour one day while I only done 30min, so I try to go above them. :D

And of course the public profile (like clicking on the name here in the forum) offers very limited information about the progress - still better than nothing, though.

You used to be able to share your progress graphs on Twitter but I can't seem to find where that is any more. It's not a live link though, just a screenshot of the past few days I think.

There is a button for the twitter thing on the progress page of the iOS app, I don't know about android or web, though.

大家好!

No need to give your login/ password away... Skritter does have a way to see progress of other users by creating a Skritter "Group" and having your friends join in on the fun!

You can create a group by going to: http://www.skritter.com/groups

Groups were designed with teachers in mind, so a lot of the lingo is formatted as such, but once a group is created you can invite friends with a group specific URL and by making progress visible to all group members. The group URL and other tweaks can be found under the "Settings" tab for the specific group. We've outlined how some of this works in the FAQ for those that are interested (here: http://www.skritter.com/faq#inst_part2 )

We'll be working on other fun ways to share progress and see stats in the future, but I hope this helps some of you guys stay motivated by studying with friends!

SkritterJake -
The problem I see with using groups is that everyone in the group automatically studies the lists I add to the group. So if two friends are at different levels, it wouldn't work to be studying each other's lists.

SkritterJake   July 28th, 2014 5:19p.m.

@jehlers2 thanks for bringing up this issue. In the case of adding/assigning lists to a group, it would automatically add the list to each member of the group, which would cause problems as you've mentioned.

You don't, however, actually need to assign a list to a group to see and share study progress with each other, which is what I thought you were trying to do.

The group system isn't really the ideal solution, I know, so apologies in advance, but it's a much safer way to compare stats with friends than giving out usernames and passwords.

If you know the username (and their profile is public), you could use a link like: http://www.skritter.com/userprofile?name=FRIENDSNAMEHERE to view their progress

Is there still the option to post to facebook/twitter weekly, monthly etc?
