OFF TOPIC: reputable international schools in China/Taiwan?

安勇氣   February 8th, 2014 8:46p.m.

Hey all,

I hope skrittering is going well.

Anyone know reputable international schools to WORK for? I have a line up for Maple Leaf International School in China, and I can't find much about the school through Google. Anyone heard of this school? If not, can anyone recommend a decent international school?

regards,
勇氣!

I'm very familiar with international schools in Shanghai as I work in corporate mobility and part of that is assisting with school finding for expats on behalf of their companies.

There's an online directory for all the international schools in Shanghai here: http://www.magme.cn/publish/mag-read.action?id=6186

I did a quick google and their website is here: www.mapleleafschools.com

They look fine, they have multiple locations and seem to be well set up - nightmare for teachers in Shanghai Rego International school last year: months without pay due to financial trouble (even though they charge USD 25,000 plus per year per kid!!).

Great that they are in some of the 2nd/3rd tier cities also, fun experience if you plan to focus on learning Chinese in your spare time!

Which location were you looking at?

I actually have a Skype interview this Sunday (MST) for Maple Leaf Education Systems. I don't think I get to choose a location until after the interview (though I'm going to pressure the employer to put my south of China (girlfriend is located in Guangzhou)). Shanghai would be a good spot. Wuhan, or Chongqing cross the finish line as second and third options.

Thanks for link ocastling; I'll take a look after this post.

=)
