Tablets?

I know the site has a section on it, but I was wondering about you guys think, and what you guys recommend. Because there are a half-dozen Wacom tablets, and then half a dozen off-brands.

Also, does anyone know when (or if) the iPad app will come out? That would kind of trump the tablet, I think.

I recently bought a medium-size Wacom Bamboo Fun Pen & Touch and I find it a bit difficult to write characters (I have to move not only my wrist, but also the hand sometimes). For skritter I would definitely recommend a small-sized tablet (A6).

I've got a very old school Wacom, I don't even know what it's called - possibly Volito. It works great. I don't know how different the new fancy ones are, but I do know that they perform better than the budget non-branded ones you can pick up online.

Edit: I agree with @kartoshin, my tablet is A6 and even that is larger than necessary for Skritter, and just about big enough for painting in Photoshop comfortably.

Re. iOs App - a post by Nick from a thread a few days ago:

"There is no release date yet, until we get very close and are sure we can hit it. We've still got much to do, since the final release has to be very polished."

I have a small Bamboo Wacom and it works great. If I could, I would use it exclusively and never use my cell phone.

Wacom Bamboo CTH-460. Bought new packaged on eBay.

@kartoshin - you just need to adjust your wacom settings in order to use a smaller area of the tablet for skittering.

Yeah, you can restrict things--I find that the smaller the writing area, the better.
