Love the app, absolutely brilliant.

I thought of an awesome new theme that you may want to explore… when writing the characters you have the option of Dark Theme (which is fantastic) but how about chalk on a blackboard? When I was in China we would always practice writing characters on the blackboard and it had a really authentic feel to it.

While I don't have anything against the idea, I'm not really sure what you mean by "authentic feel"? As though the feeling of writing Chinese with chalk is somehow more authentic than using a pen or brush?

Completely accept you point. But with the brush point, wouldn't it feel more authentic if you could see and feel the paint as it was splashed onto the canvas, and it was dripping a little bit. That's would be fantastic. I'm genuinely not complaint about the current approach as I think the app is by far the best around, but just think with a bit more real life character added to the writing method would make it even better.

We actually had splattering ink in the light theme, but we never got the effect to the point where it looked great, and it could sometimes look a bit buggy, so we turned it off. The dark theme has an effect where if you get a lot of prompts right in a row quickly, with few missed strokes, then it starts to shoot sparks. I like that effect a lot; probably spent way too much time on it, though.

It's my very favorite thing in the app when the review count is too high to be motivating...
