Looks like the Great Firewall or something like it is preventing you from completely loading www.skritter.com because it is hosted on Google App Engine, which is periodically blocked. Try instead our mirror:

This might also be caused by an internet filter, such as SafeEyes. If you have such a filter installed, try adding appspot.com to the list of allowed domains.

iOS app: Slow from china?

whosnick   June 13th, 2012 10:26p.m.

Browsing through the textbooks and lists seems very slow from Beijing. skritter.cn works fine though. Could it be that the app only uses the skritter.com servers?

I have a related question:

what is the URL of the other skritter site that has "ios" in the URL ?

That's usually the best site to use in China, but I forgot the URL and can't seem to find it

Browsing the lists from here in Sydney is pretty slow。

The app itself still seems to slow down and get laggy after around 30 minutes (iphone4)on both ios5.2 and ios 6 - less so on ipad2.

The textbook lists view is pretty slow, it's true. (Even from the US.) We'll try to optimize that soon.

Whatever web address the app is using to access information it's definitely being blocked periodically and is very slow. I find that I have to go to the website using my computer to get more words added to the list.

Hope you guys can get this working a bit smoother, just bought six months and I'm really happy with the app so far.
