Problem with Android App

Alexeoe   July 8th, 2014 8:43a.m.

Hello! I followed all the steps to download the skritter app for Android but once I click on the link that says Download Chinese Skritter for Android after accepting being a Test member and redirects me to playstore it says Element not found :( Any help?? Thank you!

This seems to have happened to quite a number of people the first time they try to access it. If you've already accepted to become a tester, then I'd say wait a bit and then try again. It might take the Google servers a bit of time to update your account with the new permissions required to visit that page and download the app.

The preferred method is through Google Play, but you can use the link below to download the apk files and install them directly if that isn't working.

*Keep in mind that installing the apk files directly will result in no audio.

Hi Josh, thank you for the reply, I tried from my Android tablet too and its also not working in any of the 2 devices, I downloaded the no audio one in my phone but it will be good if I can have the audio one, any solutions? Thank you.

@Alexeoe, maybe you can also try joining the tester group from your computer using a vpn. It sounds like the store pages are working fine from China it's just not recognizing your account as a tester.

The audio files are something we are currently serving through Google. In the future we might figure out a way to get them to people using the direct apk download, but it's not a very straight forward install process. The ideal solution would be getting the test account working properly.

In my case, Google Play got confused because my Android phone was currently signed in under two Google accounts.

I logged out of both accounts, relogged in using the one that was considered a beta tester, and voila... I was able to download the app.
