Traditional and Simplified

henning   August 29th, 2009 11:54a.m.

To continue the discussion from the CPod board.

I just found the "both" setting.
Cool. I haven't noticed that before (the last time I touched character style setting was December 08...).

Is there a possibility to complement the traditional versions for the 2176 simplified words I already have in my stack? Or will they foreever remain single?

Isn't that already one of the 5 options in the menu where the "both" setting is you just mentioned ?

Update: But from I have observed up to this point, the "both" setting indeed adds missing traditional characters like new vocab.

mw,
actually I am not sure what "Simplified and Previously Added Traditional" and "Traditional and Previously Added Simplified" are supposed to do.

I would assume "Simplified and Previously Added Traditional" would mean that from now on you would study simplified but it would keep all the traditional characters.

In your specific case (henning), you could do Traditional and previously added Simplified if you wanted to catch up on a lot of traditional first and then go back to adding both later.

Or I could just be wrong.

I'll stick to simplified ... :-)

If you set it to "both", then you will start adding both simplified and traditional whenever new word are added from a list during practice. So you can go back through some of the lists you've done, and it'll add the missing ones.

You could turn off reviewing old simplified or traditional words completely by selecting the other style. Or, you could keep reviewing the simplified you have, but only add new traditionals, by selecting "traditional and previously added simplified."

It sounds like you want "both", though.
