definiton practice alters when new words are added?

sonorier   December 11th, 2009 2:31a.m.

I had more than 100 items to review and still was I seeing words in writing practice that said "new word" (I still had almost 200 items to review then). The queue didn't behave like that before I think.

I though that the reason was that it were words that were added in definition practice yesterday and that they are automatically added in writing practice queue as well, is that so?

But now with still more than 100 items left to review skritter keeps on adding new words, hence my review queue goes down very slowly and I dread the time to come, with so many new words at the same time I am going to have a review of even more tomorrow or later today.

Whenever I get overwhelmed like that, I just turn down the frequency of words being added, and shut off any lists I have running. Then when I catch up with my learning I turn the lists back on and/or increase frequency.

That's what I did, I just think the queue didn't behave like this before the addition of definition practice, it waited until 40 or so items left, i think, before adding new words.

There is a bug with definition practice where it can introduce a bunch of new writing and tone items that are ready to be reviewed, but aren't reviewed until you reload the practice page (only the definitions come up). That's why all the writing prompts were delayed until the next day.

I'm working on fixing it today.

Hi I also had this problem. I had all lists paused. I added "definition". Then I studied some more words including a few definitions. I then later unpaused two lists and 30something new words were added one after the other. I was waiting for it to stop adding new words automatically but it did not so I finally stopped all the lists. Then I went out of skritter and came back and there is like 60-new words there. It is kind of disheartening to have so many new words I do not know in my practice queue.
