Practising Kanji before I'm ready

stelingo   October 18th, 2009 9:34a.m.

I am working my way through Genki and am up to Chapter 11. I added the kanji for chapter 11 as a cram list. But now when I am in practice mode it has already started adding the kanji from chapter 12 before I am ready to learn them. What can I do to remedy this?

You can pause that list until you are ready to start practicing the next chapter.

Also you can go to your account preferences

and set 'Move To Next Section' to 'Manual'. This will make your lists automatically pause whenever you finish a section.

I'm still having the same problem and I can no longer find the option 'Move To Next Section' to 'Manual'

Ah, that option is now only on the new practice page settings menu. Try setting it there.

There is a known bug where it adds the first word of the next section before stopping. We haven't fixed that one yet.
