Ban Words With Android App

caffeine   August 13th, 2014 7:41p.m.

Is it possible to ban words from the lists I'm studying from (or delete words from my remixed lists) with the android app?

We don't have the ban word option built into the Android app just yet, but it's on the to-do list along with some more list management options.

If getting rid of a word is urgent, we recommend searching on the web for the character/word and banning it here. If you can't recall which words you're looking to ban, I would recommend starring them on the Android app, which might make them a little easier to find later.

Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for your patience as we get banning hooked up!

I am struggeling with the same problem. Banning words directly on Android would be very helpful. I am looking forward to this upgrade.

However, the solution proposed by SkritterJake is not working for me. I have banned a word on the Skritter website, but it is still shown in my studies. Any idea how to fix this?

I have just enabled the option to ban words directly from the Android information panel (version 0.90.2645). They can be un-banned using the tab on the my words screen.

If you've previously banned words from the web and those actions aren't showing up on Android you should go to the account screen and use "restore data". I was able to reproduce an issue where the banned words weren't getting updated on Android quickly enough. I need to look into better ways of handling this.
