iOS app error when downloading new sounds

MikkelJ   June 13th, 2012 12:15a.m.

Hi, GREAT APP!

Just one comment. Yesterday I found a button in the settings menu that allowed for downloading additional sounds for lesser known words. I started the download, however my internet connection was interrupted in the middle of the download (I'm on an unstable satellite connection). But now the button displays the text "Downloaded" and I can't resume or restart the download...

It would be great to have a way to resume the download when interrupted halfway, and also to have a progress bar in the middle of the button to follow how many percent have been fetched and how many are missing.

Hmm--it should handle the state of the download and reset it if it didn't work. Are you not getting the additional sounds? You might have to use the "Clear Local Data" in the account settings, and if that doesn't work, reinstall the app. In the meantime, we can work on this bug for a future update.

I've done the "Clear Local Data" and logged in again, but the button still says Downloaded and is "unclickable"... I'm not sure whether I'm getting the additional sounds, since I'm not sure exactly which words the download is supposed to contain. But I can say that I have no sound in at least the word ya 呀.

Individual characters' sounds are all included in the app, but we don't have many neutral tones--is that what you're seeing? There are very few multi-character word sounds if the download did not work. If you're not seeing enough of those, then you could try reinstalling the app from scratch--sorry about that!
