Hey guys because recently I m getting delved under my reviews it. I started to wonder how many reviews fellow skritterers have everyday

Here are my stats
Daily 400-550. Reviews, takes 30-45 min
If one day I don't use skritter I get 750-800 items

Looking forward to know other people's review item count

I recommend you stop adding words for a while (switch to manual add) until you get things under control.

Hehe thanks for the advice, however I can manage the reviews as I can spend 1-2h a day, just I m curious how many reviews other ppl have :)

I think I get about 200 reviews a day, and that it would take about 4 days of not using Skritter, maybe more, to build up to 800.
I am curious to know why it should be so different from yours Rodney.

Hehe that's not too bad :) I dunno I very word adding on fast, do around 30-40 new words a day but sometimes less

Are the reviews counted by Words/Characters or by each component (writing/reading/speaking)?

Well it's mainly because sometimes when u do 1 word it can count for anything ranging between 1-4. But they do cover all 4 aspects writing, definition, reading and speaking.

As for zhangyanglu, I studied Chinese in China for 3 years prior using skritter. I actually started to use it because I had to pass husk 6 prior graduating.

本杰明 ur count is almost similar to mine actually however when I log in to do my reviews it's always more than it said on the study page, do u ve a similar problem? It might be new words from the day before though

When I logged in this morning, I had 700 reviews. But I can never get my reviews down to 0. I finished with 500 remaining last night.

When I was set to normal mode, reaching 0 reviews was no problem.

It all depends on how many words you add per day and how fast you learn new words. I'm a bit slow, I add somewhere between 15 and 30 per day, and I generally do about an hour of study (skritter time) and around 500 reviews.

But this varies. For example, there is a high number of new characters in the day's additions, I take longer to learn them, and correspondingly the next several days have a higher review count. Similarly, if there are a lot of words in my queue that are entirely made up of characters I know already, and/or are fairly obvious in their meaning, I either end up with a lower number of reviews for the next few days, or if I know I have enough time, I sometimes add more words.

Also keep in mind that fluctuations in the number of reviews tend to last for day. If you clear out 800 reviews today, many of those will be back tomorrow. And the day after, and the next.

Don't let the number of reviews get you down. Just do a little more every day and maybe add fewer new words (but don't stop adding). I just came back from overseas and have been struggling to study, what with being back at work (a new job, actually) and jet-lag, so I've piled up 1800+ reviews. But that doesn't really matter - I just keep going. It will go down gradually and be back to normal in a week or three.

And that's not counting writing, which I removed until I catch up for the other parts.

Hmmm mine seems a lot less stressful than all of yours!

Items now due: 12 (I already did about 45 mins earlier today).

There are usually about 100 reviews due each day, which takes me about 30-45 mins.

I guess the difference is that:
1) I only use Skritter for writing, everything else is turned off.
2) I only add a few new characters a day. I am studying Chinese in class and that seems to be enough to keep up (we only do about 35 new words a week)

Seeing as though you are curious :-), here you go:

I have 1367 reviews this morning (4 part learning). Over the next 5 days I have: 591 (Mon), 247 (Tue), 245 (Wed), 339 (Thurs), and 268 (Fri).

Over the past month I have studied about 22 hours "Skritter time" and "learned" around 200 words.

Earlier this year, I had a problem where I had monumental reviews (8000+) after a few months away from Skritter. I found it very disheartening, but instead of deleting my words and starting again –– this was not an option as I had built up a huge database of words and definitions –– I "banned" all my words and started re-adding them with my own definitions (which I get from John De Francis' ABC Dictionary, 现代汉语词典. 多功能成语词典).

I have about 1000 or so banned words that need to be added back in and about 200 or so banned words which won't be added back in as I can't remember their context and they are not in ChinesePod or PopUp Chinese example sentences.

In addition, I added the original sentence or word where I sourced the word/character from (or from a ChinesePod sentence) in my definitions (minus the character/word which is a "～"), so I can remember the context of the word. This really helps with distinguishing from other synonyms. For example:

V. to have; to possess (e.g. 澳大利亚可能～1000多万亿立方英尺; 他真想～一点私人空间) *[领有; 具有]*

It was a little bit of hard yakka at first but I found that going back and doing that removed A LOT of my leeches. I had quite a few characters and words which I don't remember the reason for adding them.

@Kai Carver, I can surely sympathise with your plight. I am thinking of taking off the "reading" part as I find that I am not able to clear my reviews unless I focus a lot on Skritter (which is not an option as I have a thesis to write). If I combine the reading part into the definition section, i.e. test myself for pinyin and definition then hopefully I won't lose out too much.

I would be interested in hearing anyone's thoughts on how I did this. As I know from reading this forum, there are a lot of Skritters who are quite knowledgeable about Chinese language pedagogy.
